The "C" Word

Someone once said, "Too often, we get so focused on the finish line that we fail to find joy in the journey." This is Brynn's journey. You are invited to share in her fear and faith as she ventures into unfamiliar territory. Thank you, in advance, for your prayers and support for Brynn and her family. This is OUR journey. As we work together and pray together, may we truly find joy along the way.

10.11.14 and inbetween

My Bone Scan says the same thing that my PET scan did. The cancer is only in that one spot. This lead to me having to get my port in almost immediately and also having to get a bone marro. That was yesterday and now my port hurts like crazy and I still haven't taken off the band-aid that is covering the port. A port is something that goes under your skin. It is where the doctors insert your chemo. Speaking of chemo, I will be starting it on Monday.  I am not looking  forward to starting it. I know it will be painful and not feel good at all! At least we know what type of cancer I have and the best way to get rid of it. I can't tell you that much, just that I have Ewing's Sarcoma. After my chemo the doctors will just take out my rib, because I don't really need it. That's really all I know right now. I also might get to do a bunch of cool things, so it won't all that bad! Well, thanks for checking in! I'll try to blog more often it just gets kind of pushed back with everything else happening. Bye!

  1. I am sorry your port hurts Brynn! And your body is full of stuff it doesn't really need, so it won't miss one rib. I had my spleen taken out when I was 4 years old, and I have never missed it. I hope that you get to do a bunch of cool things mixed in with the not-so-cool chemo kind of things! Thanks for blogging, I love to read what is going on.

  2. Glad to read about how you are doing. So sorry your port hurts! You will be learning a lot of new medical stuff as this goes along. Feel free to teach it to us. I watched my Dad go thru chemo and radiation therapy. It wasn't fun, but it DID stop his cancer. Maori proverb: "When you face the sun, the shadows fall behind you." Good luck with your first chemo tomorrow! We are fasting and praying for you.

  3. Hi honey, I am thinking about you. I feel like you are starting out on a marathon. Have you ever been to a marathon? There are people all along the way to cheer and support the runners. You are the runner in this race and we are all standing on the side lines calling out your name and cheering you on, "I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT. GO BRYNN!"

  7. Hope you are feeling better! How often are your treatments? How long do you feel sick after? Do you try to distract yourself with movies or games, or just try to sleep through it? Am I asking enough questions? I'll stop being nosy now :) Love you, Brynn.

  8. Hey Brynn, ummm... my friend, Duncan, came over to interview the other day for our project. Unfortunately I couldn't make it because I was out of town, I was really looking forward to meeting you. Anyways, I wanted to thank you for your interview and I hope all is well with you. Hopefully our project wins and our school will do something for one of the organizations. Again thank you... I hope to meet you soon
