The "C" Word

Someone once said, "Too often, we get so focused on the finish line that we fail to find joy in the journey." This is Brynn's journey. You are invited to share in her fear and faith as she ventures into unfamiliar territory. Thank you, in advance, for your prayers and support for Brynn and her family. This is OUR journey. As we work together and pray together, may we truly find joy along the way.

Where to begin???

Earlier this week, after mentioning that her back had been hurting, Brynn's dad took her to his office to have an ultrasound.  Thinking she might have cracked a rib, Dan expected to find a small fracture. Nothing could have prepared them for what they found. Brynn has a tumor under her 11th rib.

The last thing any parent wants to hear is, "your child has cancer". But those words are still ringing in their ears after this week of x-rays and blood tests. Knowing that many friends and family are praying for them, Lori begins the dialogue of what is sure to become a story we will all be following throughout the coming weeks and months.

"I am hesitant about what to say because we don't have the official diagnosis.  At the moment, we do know that Brynn has a tumor.  It will be biopsied next Tuesday.  She will also have to have a PET scan and bone scan.  The official diagnosis won't be known for approximately a week after the biopsy.  We will let you know updates as they come.  Brynn knows she will undergo some kind of chemo and, most likely, this will cause her to lose her hair.  She, and we are grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have already felt.  Our faith is in our Heavenly Father and we know He hears the prayers of His children." ~ Lori

As we move forward from here, Brynn will continue to share her story as it unfolds.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6
