The "C" Word

Someone once said, "Too often, we get so focused on the finish line that we fail to find joy in the journey." This is Brynn's journey. You are invited to share in her fear and faith as she ventures into unfamiliar territory. Thank you, in advance, for your prayers and support for Brynn and her family. This is OUR journey. As we work together and pray together, may we truly find joy along the way.

I'm Still Here!

I am not dead. Nor am I done with my chemo yet. This summer has been flying by! We had to push back my chemo regiment because I went to girls camp in June, so now my last week it the first of august. Today I finished my last 5 day cycle ever!!!!! So excited that tonight is the last night I'll ever be on a saline pump again!!!!! My chemo doesn't really make me sick anymore. I guess my body just got used to it by now :) So I only have two days left! They're just spread out over three weeks... but their easy, and that's good. Other than that there's not much to report. Life is good, school will be starting soon. My dad has also started his chemo cycle. They're only about 3 days a month, and it made him sick for a few days, but now he's back to normal. Kohl left for Philmont today, and our family might be headed to Fun Float Friday at the pool. Summer has been nice and hot lately, after our weeks of rain. If there is anything you would like to know just comment your question and I'll do my best to get back to you. If you want more frequent updates you're welcome to follow me on Instagram at @__brynn_marie__. Thank's for checking in after all this time! Bye!

April 6th

Not much is new. Spring break came and went and now I'm back on chemo. I still have radiation and it's making me sicker as we go, but I haven't had to have one of the chemo drugs that makes me really nauseous for a long time. This week I have two days of chemo which will hopefully not make me that sick, but if it does I'm prepared and hopefully it won't get that bad.this week I went and saw two movies, "Home" and "Insurgent". They were both really good!I haven't felt too sick and I got Friday off of radiation which is a good thing! I only have 10 more radiation to go and I'm pretty excited to be done with them. I hope that you're doing well! I'm doing pretty good at the moment! Yesterday me and my family watch general conference and enjoyed some candy that Easter bunny has left us. I ate a lot of recess peanut butter cups! I didn't get much sleep last night though because I was hooked up to a saline pump. Saline is just saltyish water to keep me hydrated before and throughout chemo. And after as well if I'm throwing up to much. But anyway, it just makes me need to use the restroom a lot because it's like constantly drinking a ton of water! Thanks for checking in even when I don't post very often, but things are busy and I am a lazybones. I appreciate all of the help and support! Talk to you later, bye.

Post-Surgery

I went to surgery on January 29, 2015. It went great, and I only had to spend one night in the hospital. The next day I had a movie night with some of my friends from church and an excellent recovery the following week. Since then I've had one round of Chemo and am starting radiation tomorrow.I was going to school on a regular basis and been able to stop taking pills for about a month now.everything is going great and healing fine. I have a lot of support back home and doing good. The scar scar on my back is pretty big, but it never really hurts. I can even feel the end of my rib!going great and I only have about six more months of chemo to go until I'm cancer free! Do you only bad news is that there was still a bit of cancer so I'm going to have to start radiation tomorrow as I said before. I've already had a mold made of my upper body and think will be pretty easy. At least easier than chemo is! I hope you have a good year! Oh! And I'm not allowed to take doxorubicin while I am in radiation, so that's a good thing!I do have chemo later today, but it's Vanchristine, so I won't throw up or anything. I'm not really sure what you want to know so if you have any questions just comment them below and I'll try my best to answer. Thanks for checking in! I'll try my best blog more often then I have fan, but it's been a very exciting past few months! Check again later! Bye!

Surgery Date

We just found out what day my surgery will be on. The doctor told us the 29th of January would be best. That's great, besides the fact that it's also my half birthday. Well, looking forward to that! I said sarcastically. So there you have it. January 29th.

I Wish...

The other day while I was up at the hospital, our child-life specialist, Jill, reminded me about something very big! My wish. Make a wish foundation will grant me a wish! So, I got to thinking, what should I wish for? I talked to someone who told me that their sister went to a place called Bora Bora for her wish, and loved it!, I looked at some pictures of Bora Bora and it seemed like a lot of fun! So there's one option. Later, my mom told me that the Bundersons, a family friend of ours, went to Turks and Caicos and said it was the funnest place they've ever been! And they've been to a lot of places! There's option #2. The last thing I'm considering is one of the well known Disney cruises! So far i think Hawaii sounds best, but if you know better, say something! Comment what you think you would do if you got a wish and what you think I should for mine. Also, I had an MRI on Friday and from what we can see, my tumor has shrunk considerably. I also had a PT/CT scan yesterday just to verify. Now I'm off to surgery! I don't know when I'm having it yet, but I'll blog the date when I do. So comment below and check in soon! Thanks!

Christmas and New Years!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry i haven't blogged in so log. Things have been really busy with Christmas and New Years happening. Luckily, I've felt great through both! Christmas was awesome! I got tons of cute new clothes ad jewelry and fun crafts to work on while at the hospital. I got to spend Christmas eve with some friends and we all ad a great time playing bingo for some fun prizes. Looking forward to a fun Christmas next ear too, and a big thanks to the family who made Christmas the way it was! Then on New Years Eve I started off the night by going to my friend, Kyra's, house. We ate some fried chicken that her dad cooked us in his fryer, along with some fluffy waffles with strawberry sauce, and the biggest, most juicy green grapes I'd ever seen! I was so full afterwards, I could hardly walk! So I didn't! Instead Kyra, Lindsey and I played a game of "Racko", something Kyra had gotten for Christmas. It was really fun! In the end I just barley won! Then all the moms came in and everyone played a quick game of "Gestures", and it was time for me to leave, so my dad drove me to my other friend, Kelly's house. There we read fan fiction, took quizzes, and played games like "Just Dance 2015" and "Quelf". I had a blast! At midnight we all drank a cup of sparkling cider and posted our first picture of the new year. I hope you had a blast this holiday season too! Oh, I almost forgot! I have about a month off chemo! I'm also a third of the way done with my treatment, and will be getting my surgery later this month! so it really was a happy new year.
